1. RLT Home Total Spectrum Series, Best Overall
If we could only keep one panel in the studio, it would be from the RLT Home Total Spectrum range. We have taken students through Yin sessions in front of the Ultra, run post class recovery clinics with the Compact, and watched skin and sleep markers transform across our community. What separates RLT Home from almost every competitor in this guide is the breadth of wavelengths combined with how those wavelengths are weighted across the LEDs.
The seven wavelength advantage
Most red light therapy panels carry four or five wavelengths. RLT Home carries seven, and crucially, more than half of the LED budget is spent on wavelengths that penetrate deep into the body. This is what makes RLT Home a quiet leader in deep tissue penetration: short red light handles your skin, while the heavy weighting at 810nm, 830nm, 850nm and 1064nm reaches your muscles, joints and even neural tissue. The 1064nm allocation in particular is unusual; most panels stop at 850nm.
RLT Home Total Spectrum wavelength mix:
480 nm — 6%
630 nm — 19%
660 nm — 19%
810 nm — 19%
830 nm — 14%
850 nm — 9%
1064 nm — 14%
Roughly 56% of the LED budget is committed to wavelengths from 810nm upward. These are the wavelengths that reach deep muscle, joints and neural tissue. For yoga practitioners working on hip openers, backbends and deep stretches, this is where the real recovery benefit sits.
Free personalised therapy plan
Every RLT Home purchase includes a free personalised therapy plan, built around your specific wellness goals: skin, sleep, recovery, pain, mood, weight management or hair growth. Their team emails you for a short profile before the panel arrives and then sends a weekly programme structured for your priorities. This is something we have not seen from any other panel manufacturer at this price point, and it is the difference between owning a panel and actually using it well.

4. BlockBlueLight PowerPanel PRO, Best Mid Range
The PRO sits in the sweet spot of the BlockBlueLight range. Large enough for a meaningful body area, small enough to live in a bedroom or yoga corner without dominating the space. The Tabletop is compact enough to sit beside your bolster during Yoga Nidra, yet powerful enough to deliver real therapeutic dosage. Pairs beautifully with: A 20 minute Yoga Nidra recording, alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana), or Trataka (candle gazing meditation). The 7 wavelength spectrum supports both skin and deeper tissue without overheating your space.
6. Red Light Rising Half Stack, Best Simple Entry Panel
If you want effective red light therapy without the complexity of touchscreens and apps, the Half Stack is a no frills, four wavelength panel (630/660/810/850 nm) built around what matters: clean light, simple switch, sturdy frame. 365 day trial, 2 year warranty.

What to Look For Before You Buy
Marketing copy on red light therapy panels can be dizzying. Here are the five things we genuinely weigh up when recommending a device to a student.
1. Wavelengths matter more than LED count
A panel with 300 LEDs at one wavelength is less useful than one with 100 LEDs across five. Look for, at minimum, 660nm (red) and 850nm (near infrared), the two most clinically studied wavelengths. Bonus points for panels that include 630nm (surface skin), 810nm and 830nm (intermediate penetration), and 1064nm (deepest near infrared, reaching neural tissue).
2. Pay attention to the wavelength mix, not just the count
Two panels can both advertise seven wavelengths and behave very differently in practice. What matters is how the LED budget is divided. A panel that allocates the majority of its LEDs to surface skin wavelengths (630nm and 660nm) will be excellent for face and skin, but will not reach the deeper tissue that supports recovery from yoga, strength work or sports. This is why we lean towards RLT Home, which weights heavily towards near infrared and includes 1064nm.
3. Irradiance over LED count
Irradiance, measured in milliwatts per square centimetre, is the actual energy reaching your skin. Look for a minimum of 50 mW/cm² at 6 inches. Beware of panels advertising solar meter readings of 200+ mW/cm² without disclosing distance, as these are often inflated. Spectrometer measured figures are far more honest.
4. EMF, flicker and safety certifications
You will be sitting close to this panel for 10 to 20 minutes a day. Look for EMF readings near 0 microTesla, no flicker, CE certification (mandatory in the UK), FDA registration, and RoHS compliance. Panels failing on any of these are not worth the saving.
5. Warranty and trial
A confident manufacturer offers a meaningful warranty and a trial period. The shortest warranty in this guide is 2 years (Red Light Rising); the longest is 5 years (BlockBlueLight). RLT Home's 60 day risk free trial and Red Light Rising's 365 day trial give you genuine time to test the panel in your routine.
How to Use Red Light Therapy With Your Yoga Practice
At Equinox Holistic, we do not believe red light therapy belongs in a clinical box. Used thoughtfully, it weaves beautifully into a yoga and meditation practice, supporting the same goal: bringing the body back into balance.
Before practice, gentle warming
A 10 minute panel session before an early morning practice gently warms tissue, supports circulation and reduces stiffness in cold UK mornings. Particularly helpful if you have a backbend or arm balance focus in your sequence.
During Yoga Nidra or restorative
This is our favourite integration. Lay your mat in front of the panel, settle into a supported restorative pose, and let 20 minutes of red and near infrared light deepen the parasympathetic response your nervous system is already entering. Combine with Yoga Nidra audio for a profound reset.
After class, recovery
A 15 minute session post practice supports muscle recovery and reduces delayed onset soreness. Particularly worthwhile after Vinyasa, Ashtanga or strength led classes. Many of our students use this window for journaling, deep breathing or simply sitting in stillness.
For meditation and Pranayama
Some traditions describe a Sushumna channel running through the spine, the seat of subtle energy. Whether or not you read red light therapy through that lens, the practical effect of sitting in front of a warm spectrum panel during Pranayama or Trataka is remarkable: a softer mind, steadier breath, and a felt sense of settling in that meditators recognise immediately.
Practical session structure for the home practitioner: Twice weekly, 20 minutes, 30 cm from the panel. Use the time for Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, or simply a body scan. Skip caffeine in the hour before. Eye goggles on. Allow at least an hour between sessions on the same body area. If you have an RLT Home panel, follow the personalised plan their team builds for you, as it is structured for your specific goals.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best red light therapy panel in the UK for 2026?
Across the panels we have tested and used in the studio, the RLT Home Total Spectrum series is our top overall pick. 7 wavelengths, near zero EMF, FDA registration, a 3 year warranty, free personalised therapy plan, and shipping from their UK warehouse in Milton Keynes. Equinox Holistic readers can take an extra 5% off using code EQUINOX. For the longest standing British alternative, Red Light Rising is the original UK red light therapy brand and worth a close look.
Which wavelengths should I prioritise?
At minimum, 660nm (red, surface skin and mitochondria) and 850nm (near infrared, deeper tissue). Better panels add 630nm, 810nm, 830nm. The most advanced, RLT Home, include 480nm (skin clarity) and 1064nm (deepest penetration, reaching neural tissue). The mix of wavelengths matters as much as the count: RLT Home spends roughly 56% of its LED budget on wavelengths from 810nm upward.
How does red light therapy support yoga?
Red light therapy increases mitochondrial ATP production, your cellular energy currency, supporting recovery, circulation and tissue repair. Used before practice, it primes muscles and warms tissue. Used after, it accelerates recovery from deep stretches, backbends and inversions. Many of our students use a panel during Yoga Nidra or Pranayama for a deeper restorative effect.
How long should a session last?
10 to 20 minutes per area, at 15 to 50 cm from the panel. More is not better. Red light therapy follows a biphasic dose response, where the optimal dose gives maximum benefit and excessive exposure reduces effects.
Are these panels safe?
Reputable panels are non invasive, drug free and emit no UV. Look for CE certification (mandatory in the UK), FDA registration, EMF readings near 0 microTesla, flicker free operation, and always wear the included eye goggles when facing the panel directly.
Does RLT Home ship from the UK?
Yes. RLT Home operates a UK warehouse in Milton Keynes for fast British delivery without customs delays. This is one of the practical reasons we recommend them as the top pick for UK buyers.
Is there an Equinox Holistic discount code for RLT Home?
Yes. Use code EQUINOX at checkout to take an extra 5% off the RLT Home Total Spectrum range. The code stacks with active sales and is exclusive to our community.
Can I try red light therapy at Equinox Holistic before buying?
Absolutely. Our Red Light Therapy Yoga sessions are designed to give you a felt experience of the practice before you invest in a panel for home.
